Can no longer import models into UE 5.4 - Downloaded assets filter shows empty
A
Andres Francken
I'm very frustrated with the Cargo app.
I'm currently on a 30-day free trial with 10 downloads. I was able to add 9 out of my 10 downloads to my account as "Owned" models, but I was unable to import all of the models into Unreal Engine. The download progress was very slow, and errored or became unresponsive several times. After importing the first couple of models into Unreal Engine projects, the Import option became as unresponsive as the download process.
I tried to clear my caches and reinstall Cargo, but now I still can't download my last asset; in fact, I also still can't import anything into Unreal Engine, because my "Downloaded" filter is now empty, even though my Downloads are appearing as 9/10 used.
Terrible experience and finding a solution online has not yielded any results.

Hi Andres Francken I'm sorry to hear that Cargo's been a frustrating experience during your free trial, that's not our intention!
Generally, restarting your entire system and network clears up memory leaks that can slow your computer down, especially downloading assets.
Please restart your modem, router and computer.
Also, ensure your system meets Cargo's minimum requirements. It's also helpful to review your UE import settings to ensure they're optimized for imports of all file sizes.
