Inverted Bump Maps C4d

Alexis Christodoulou- Hey Alexis! This is actually something have fixed in C4D. But just so we can troubleshoot further, which renderer are you using and which asset are you importing? Can you please share a screenshot? Thanks

I'm using Redshift and i've tried importing various assets - here is a screengrab of what i mean using the brooklyn asset
as you can see when the asset imports, the bump node is set to the standard value of 1 - and the grout is inverted
when i set that value to -1 the material is fixed!
Just another note, i get the same result using Redshift Legacy import
also another note, i've noticed how much better this import is! however, if you want additional feedback, the glass materials are also a bit broken (but i also assume they might be built like this so you can't see into the buildings properly?)
Best

Alexis ChristodoulouThanks Alexis! We will look into this. The older kits do not have interiors so we made the glass fully reflective so you can't see into them and see backfaces. If you have any other shader suggestions, let us know. Will get back to you on this as soon as we can. Thanks!

Michael Reese thanks Michael I will let you know if I come across anything else!

Alexis Christodoulou: Heyo! After further investigation, we found that the normal map texture itself (along with a handful of others) from that kit are the culprit as those maps are inverted. That is why if you invert them (-1) in the shader they look correct. We are going to reprocess those maps so they are correct. For now, the workaround you have will work but the shader should be set up with a positive amount (1) for normal maps that don't have this issue. I will let you know when the correct maps can be downloaded so you can download the correct versions. Thanks for pointing this out! Really appreciate it!

Thanks so much! appreciate the feedback - i'll keep inverting for now.
Another note:
I recently used the apartment interiors pack. I exported to C4D with redsfhit standard material and it seems that every material has a default metalness value of around 0.8 which consistently breaks everything.... well that isn't metal
I'm wondering if someone actually checks the C4D import of these packs before publishing them? Just out of interest as this bug is VERY obvious - it's literally unusable without modifying each material manually

Alexis Christodoulou: Hey Alex! Thanks for the feedback! I have a few follow-up questions.
- You say that you 'exported' to C4D. Are you actually importing from Cargo? Just making sure you are bringing assets from Cargo right into C4D.
- You should not need to invert the maps for any kit other than Brooklyn. The normal maps for Apartment interiors for example are not inverted and should read correctly with a value of 1
- We recently changed the default metalness value of our metals based on consistent user feedback. It seems like it inadvertently affected non-metal materials. We will look into this and get back. Thanks!
