[Feature Request] Allow inspection of assets before downloading/buying
complete
StefH
Some observations I made when browsing for some assets in Cargo:
- I want to be able to properly inspect assets before importing them. I would suggest adding some larger renders that we can scroll through, similar to when browsing kits on the website. Or at least allow us to view a large version of the thumbnail image. It's difficult to see what's going on in some assets with just the small thumbnail.
- In a similar vein, I would love to have a proper look at locked assets. Currently it immediately shows the upgrade to Cargo Pro pop-up. Should some additional renders be available as described above, I would love to see those before committing to a subscription. Meanwhile the download button could be replaced by something like an upgrade button instead, that then shows the upgrade pop-up upon clicking it.

We've updated asset inspection in Cargo v1.1 to allow users to view locked assets and full screen preview them!

In Search, show which kit an asset belongs to.

When I do a search, I can't tell which kits the locked assets are from (if I click on them, I get the popup window to buy a Cargo Pro membership, which I'm not ready to do quite yet). It would be useful to know the kit and not only the name of the asset, in case it's one someone would like to use but would prefer to buy as a kit itself rather than purchase the subscription.

viewer thoughts

At this time, when clicking on a model that is not owned it comes up with a pop up window to upgrade. I think at this stage I would not be sure whether I would want to upgrade or not. I think at first, I would have to see a better view of the model.
Perhaps, there could also be a video or screenshot of the models in the render engine to see what they look like specific to the program as well

Can we inspect locked models

If I click on a model that I own, I see a thumbnail view on the righthand side of the interface that allows me to see a few more images of the model and its tech specs. If I select a model that is locked -that I don't own- I just get a window asking me to upgrade my plan. For the models I don't own, would it also be possible to see the thumbnail views and tech specs the same as for models I own? Thanks.

I looked earlier but didn't see a post addressing this but I now see that there has already been discussion of this and that it is under review. Sorry about that.

Asset Descriptor when selected, not push to Upgrade

I saw some assets I was interested in but when I clicked them, instead of telling me which kit it was from, it asked if I wanted to upgrade, no stats no info. I personally like buying kits so I wanted to see which one it belonged to. Obviously I might possibly still want to buy individually but I would like the chance to make an informed decision if I did.

If I could add one addition to this, indicate what kit it belongs with. If I search on "mill" (looking for a water mill), there is in fact a model called "Water Mill A". Great! Now I want to buy this kit, but I don't know what kit it is in so I start the process of clicking through the kit filter until I find it... and eventually found it under outlaw. It's not impossible, but it shouldn't be this difficult for a customer that wants to buy something. (And perhaps give them the option of the subscription OR buying just this kit). Thanks!

The Models View could show which kit the models are from

Many assets in the Models view are from different kits but are similar enough in appearance that I cannot tell which Kit they may be from, until I click them. This prompts me to upgrade if I don't happen to own that Kit (despite selecting "Owned" from the Access drop-down - see my previous feedback). So browsing through assets becomes burdensome when I want to click them to find more details. Filtering by "Owned" would help but better would be an indicator in the list of what Kit each model is in so I don't even need to click them.
